Style Your Mantle!
Who doesn’t love a great mantle that looks like it was styled by a pro? We’ve all seen them as we’re scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest and get mantle envy. Well envy no more! The Joyfully Said Sign team as assembled four, simple “must haves” for a pulled-together, great looking mantle and are giving you some examples on how it could look for you!
First, our four mantle JSS Must haves:
- A focal piece - something large and visual that draws the eye
- Add some green
- Vary height of accessories
- Include textural and elemental differences
Here we used our Be Still and Know sign which we love for its declaration that in the chaos of life, we have the precious gift of resting our fears, hopes and dreams in God’s capable hands in exchange for peace and rest. We styled it along with our DIY topiaries for our something green and added a metal white lantern and some smaller accessories on the other side to meet our various height and textural differences “must haves”. We hope you can find inspiration from this mantle style and this sign can serve as a signpost in your home for you and your family.
In this mantle style, we used our smaller family number sign as an accent and made the focal point a vintage window with a cotton wreath hanging over it. We love the family number sign as a cute and stylish way to celebrate your family and love how it adds a pop to this mantle decor. Candles on candelabras add various heights, and we then styled the opposite side with a vase full of some faux twigs with cotton. And we couldn’t forget our something green, so we added a small boxwood decorative ball. We love the uniqueness of this look and how our family number sign shines despite not being large and centered.
This mantle inspiration features our The True Way To Live sign, a quote from Laura Ingles Wilder, which reminds us that the beauty of life lies in the every day moments, so enjoy every moment as it comes and passes. What a beautiful reminder at the center of your home. Here we added some faux greenery along the bottom for our some green “must-have” and added a dark colored metal lantern on one side while adding gray candles on white candelabras for contrast of height and texture.
For our final mantle styling, we once again we chose to use something other than a Joyfully Said Sign as the focal point, but think the I <3 My Tribe sign still stands out in this design and fits so appropriately with the large family photo canvas. To meet our other “must-haves” we added modern gold candelabras of various heights to one side and a green vase with some faux florals to the other. We love the fun, airiness of this styled mantle and how it celebrates what’s most important to a home - those who dwell in it.
We hope that our list of must-haves for a well-styled mantle and our various examples have inspired you to create your perfect mantle.
